Lead Educator and Early Childhood Teacher roles

Full Time & Part Time to meet new ratios requirements

Blackwood Street Child Centre is a market leader in the early childhood education sector. We are a well-established, 90 place, community based, not for profit Centre.

We currently are looking for Lead Educators and Early Childhood Teachers in full time and part time roles to meet new ratio requirements for 2016.

Selection Criteria

1). Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Lead educator or ECT.
2). Child Focused Dedication to high quality care and education
3). Solid understanding of programming and planning process, EYLF, QKLG and NQS.
4). Demonstrated emotional and social intelligence.
5). Ability to lead self and others.
6). Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and problem solve.
7). High level communication skills.
8). Demonstrated ability to constructively manage conflict to successful resolution.


The Successful Applicants must hold:

ACEQA recognized qualification such as Diploma of Children’s Services or a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)
Current Blue Card, First Aid and CPR Certificates required, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate (Certified Supervisor, and Child Protection training also preferred).

Relief Staff

We are currently looking for motivated, positive and reliable relief staff to cover short notice shifts and holiday blocks. The successful candidate/s will be working within an established Centre and supportive team.
Applicants must have the following:

  • Certificate III in Children’s Services
  • Blue card
  • Previous experience is preferred
  • Salary will be discussed at the interview and will reflect qualifications and experience
